“Allllright Coyote!!! This is Nashville and this city is full of hicks just like us…so what do that make Nashville???
“HICKTOWN!!!”
The music started blasting as me and my girls all got up on the bar. They started doing the new dance we had just learned as I belted out the first verse. Finally as the song ended we all hopped off and started serving up drinks. I went over to a customer and asked what I could get him.
“A shot of EG-Blue and a Coors Light.”
I whipped that up on the bar real quick, he handed me $10. I brought back his change and he suddenly said to me
“You have a really good voice. Ever think of becoming a singer?”
“Ummm…yeah, kinda I guess. Thanks.”
It was then that I realized who I was talking to. It was Joe Don Rooney from Rascal Flatts! All I could think was OMG…he is soooo hot!!
Time flew by and before I knew it, it was time to shut down for the night.
I got to my downtown condo on the river, took a quick shower, a fell right into bed. I was exhausted.
*~*~*~*~*
So, I guess this would be a good time to tell you about myself. My name is Alexa Beloti and I’m 23 years old. I’ve lived here in Nashville since a little bit after I graduated form Michigan State where I competed for the gymnastics team. I tried living there for a while after graduation but it just didn’t work for me anymore. So I decided to be adventurous and move here. I applied for a job as a gymnastics coach and I got the job on the spot. I had planned on getting a Masters in physical therapy but I just couldn’t give up coaching. Now I work at Coyote Ugly Saloon here in Nashville as well. It’s a lot of fun and I get to meet a ton of interesting people…and I mean interesting. So I guess I can hold out for a while.
*~*~*~*~*
Next morning…
I whacked my alarm and rolled out of bed. I checked my phone and saw I had a new voicemail so I checked it…
“Hey Lex. It’s Kati. Just wondering if you wanted to maybe go shopping and out to lunch today. So just call my back whenever you wake up. Bye!”
“Ugh…I’m so tired but owell” I said to myself, but I figured why would I say no to shopping!?
I punched her speed-dial number and waited for her to pick up, while I fed my cat Pugie real quick.
“Hola my chica!” was the first thing I heard.
“Hey…so shopping and food…heck yeah!!”
It was Sunday, so we had a whole day to do whatever. And by the way, I’ve known Kati since we were 3; she moved here to Nashville when I did. She’s my rock and I can tell anything about everything. We are so close we might as well be sisters.
“Sure sounds good! I’ll be at your house at 10:30” she said.
“Okay that’s fine” I said as I checked the clock. It was 9:15 so I had enough time to get ready.
“Alright see you then. Adios senorita!”
“Stop speaking Spanish!”
“Fine! Bye!” she laughed.
“Okay bye! See you soon!”
I hung up the phone and headed to my bathroom and plugged in my flat iron so it would heat up. I headed to my closet to pick out an outfit. It was mid-June so I picked out a henley tee, a cami for underneath, and some capris and added a pair of white flip flops. I went back into the bathroom to straighten my hair and do my makeup and change real quick. I head into the kitchen and ate a bowl of cereal.
Just as I finished Kati came walking in. She has an extra key so she tends to do that a lot.
“You ready?” she asked
“Yeah…one sec”
I ran to my bathroom and brushed my teeth. You never know who you will run into…
*~*~*~*~*
“OMG! That looks soooo cute on you!” Kati was talking about the white strapless AE dress I had tried on.
“Yeah. I think I’m going to get. I don’t know what I’ll were it for though. But I like it.”
“Duh!!! Your date with Joe Don!”
“Mmmmhmmm. Yeah right” I laughed. I had told her about the night before and she freaked out for almost 10 minutes. It was quite humorous, considering everyone was starring at her like she was crazy.
I took the things I was buying up to the register, which included 2 shirts, a pair of shorts and the dress. The total came up to $142.65. Not bad for me. I just charge it to my MasterCard and we were out of there.
“So, where do you wanna eat?” I asked as I looked at my watch. It was almost 2:00 so I knew she was hungry
“Ummmm… the Riverhouse?”
“That’s fine with me.”
We got to the restaurant, sat down, ordered our food, ate and talked about dumb things for about an hour. It was 3:30 so we decided to leave so we paid the check and walked out.
We were walking for about 15 minutes when we passed a guitar store. I glanced inside because I was looking for a new acoustic. Mine was almost 8 years old and pretty worn out. It was time for a new one. But I didn’t see anything that caught my eye…except for a cute blonde guy walking out.
All of a sudden I heard some guy with a southern accent say
“Long time, no see!”
